Wedding Photography
When planning your wedding, you’re likely to receive lots of well-meaning advice, some welcome, some less so! The one thing everyone agrees on is that it’s YOUR day. Everything about the day should be of your choosing – the location, the guests, the food, and of course, the photographer entrusted to capture the day’s events.
We believe that your wedding should be just that - a wedding, not a photoshoot. We use a journalistic style of photography, descreetly capturing the key moments, emotions, personalities and characters. We capture the little things you miss on your wedding day, but will make you chuckle and / or cry afterwards!
After your ceremony, we will take time to capture beautiful images of the happy couple, and any group shots required. We will then merge into the background once again, allowing you to enjoy your day.
All enquirers are invited to a pre-wedding shoot. This can be at home, at our studio, or a location of your choosing. This is a perfect opportunity for the couple and photographer to get to know each other will and provide a more fun and relaxed experience of photography on your wedding day. This session will be charged at our usual portrait rate, but will be deducted from the fee if you decide to book with us.
A large print from this session can be provided for the wedding day, for guests to sign.

Portraits
the term portrait tend to imply formal, staged photos, and as such isn't really appropriate, however the term really means - to quote Wikipedia - A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. The final sentence the the important one. A portrait should show the real you, not the you who has been told to smile at the camera, dressed in clothes they're embarrassed to be seen in.
Our recent subjects have ranged from 3 weeks to 90 years old. We often shoot 3-4 generations at a time, so making everyone happy and comfortable takes real skill.
Being a small independent firm gives us a considerable advantage over national chains and franchises. Photographers in chain studios tend to be taught the same posing techniques, and provide similar photos to everyone, in the dictated style of the company. They also have sales targets to meet - hence the huge number of stories of unhappy customers feeling pressured into buying more than they want.
This doesn't suit us at all. We treat every shoot differently - applying our style to your personality and preferences.
The only pressure you'll feel after a shoot with us is trying to narrow down your choice of photos. We price our packages so that you get a good range, not just 1 or 2. After all, we want you to come back as your child grows, and you will only do that if you feel you have had value for money.
We can provide a wide range of quality yet affordable products, with examples on display in the studio. Being independent, we can change these products as and when suitable new ones are available, and are not tied to a standard range.
Paul particularly likes leaving the studio behind and working outdoors. The most mundane of backdrops can be made in to an interesting image, given a bit of imagination, and appropriate lighting. An open mind and good waterproofs are essential!
