Our place - Your Place - Any Place!
Bestside offers a range of styles of portrait photography, in and around York. Our studio - one of the only accessible studios in the area - includes a range of coloured backgrounds, offering a wide range of styles in addition to the white-background 'hi-key' look people are now familiar with. You can see several examples on our Blog. We also have a range of props, and things to keep the little people happy (we know how much parents worry about this beforehand!).
If you would rather have us come to you, we can bring a portable studio - subject to available room - or work with what you have. We can also shoot on location, for example parks, at the beach etc.
There is an extra charge for home and location shoots, to cover travel and the extra time.
As well as people, we specialise in pet portraits, again, using a range of colour backgrounds. And if your dog needs a good clean first, there's a grooming parlour next door!
Prices
Studio shoot - £45
We understand that people can be put off photoshoots, as they worry that the products they want will be very expensive. Our pricing is transparent, and designed to be affordable to most people, while reflecting the quality of our products and photography.
We have a wide range of products, including custom-made frames, acrylics, canvases, albums and photobooks. Examples are available at the studio.

Many people now want electronic images. If you want web images, for Facebook for example, you can have these free with any other products (just ask!). If you want full sized, edited images, suitable for printing, you can purchase a DVD:
£50, plus £10 per image, or £150 for all images as displayed on website.
We also offer animated slideshows, in full-resolution, on DVD, for £75. There are several examples of these on this site, and youtube, though bare in mind these are low-res versions. These offer a modern, high-impact take on the ageing concept of photo slideshows. You will receive a DVD version, playable on most PCs and DVD players, and also a web version which you can send to friends.
You can view your photos online after your session, and order in your own time.

Funky Fashion
Let's face it, posing for a family portrait with Mum and Dad really isn't cool. Many teenagers are highly fashion-conscious, and particularly like photos to use on social networking sites.
With this in mind, we've launched our Funky Fashion sessions for teens. We shoot a variety of looks and outfits in, and sometimes around the studio. It's a perfect opportunity not only to try loads of outfits, but to have fun, and get some stunning images to impress your friends.
